In the 2012–2013 season, he made his debut with the Anjuman Islam Urdu High School, CST Mumbai, in the Harris Shield Tournament. He achieved the best intermediate school all-around performance in the Limca Book of Records when he scored 319 runs and took 13 wickets for 99 runs against Raja Shivaji Vidyamandir during a Giles Shield Tournament match.

International

Under-19 and Under-24:

He was chosen for India Under-19 in 2018 and helped the team win the Under-19 Asia Cup; He scored 318 runs and won the player of the tournament award। Later on, he played for India Under-19 A and India Under-19 red in various tournaments। He represented India at the 2020 Under-19 World Cup, where he scored 105 runs in the semi-final against Pakistan.

In an interview, he disclosed that his coach, Jwala Singh, had asked him to score runs in a match if he wanted to train at his academy and be given a place to live when he was living in the tents in Azad Maiden, Mumbai. After making runs in that game, Yashasvi moved in with Jwala, who took care of his financial worries.
